Many residents in and around Bricket Wood know of the existence of BRE Garston adjacent to the border of the Village. However, they may not realise the diversity of work that has been (and still is) carried out there.
Not only does the company have experts in all aspects of the construction industry but also in the fields of fire and security products, many of which they test and certify.
One of the current projects, in conjunction with government and academic research, is predicting future crime trends.
The LPC Centre for Risk Sciences in partnership with the Association of British Insurers (ABI) have published a report which aims to anticipate UK crime trends over the next 20 years. This should be a useful tool in planning ways of reducing crime in the future.
With the assistance of BRE we hope to improve the safety and security of Bricket Wood.
