| Driveway workers are back in the area again |
|---|
| There has been another case of driveway workers
intimidating a resident and refusing to take
"NO" as an answer. They insisted on doing the work and spread loose tarmac all over the driveway, which the householder then had to remove. Do not show any interest in what they have to say. If you tell them that you have a friend or a relative who is in that line of work, who would be very upset if you had the work done by someone else, then it would be difficult for them to argue with you. One caller the a feww days ago tried to show a resident an example of his work and took him to a nearby house where driveway work was in progress. It was later discovered that the work was being done as a DIY job by the owner of the property. Also be aware that markings or bricks or other object left on your property may be left as a sign to later callers. If you notice such things then try and remove them. Try and note details of any vehicle they are using and report to your local Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator or Committee Member.
